Lessons From Leaders

Anthony Robles
"You Can Be UNSTOPPABLE in Life"

"Every soul who comes to earth with a leg or two at birth must wrestle his opponents knowing it's not what is, but what can be that measures worth. Make it hard, just make it possible and through pain, I won't complain. My spirit is unconquerable. Fearless I will face each foe for I know I am capable. I don't care what's probable, through blood sweat and tears I am unstoppable."

Art that Rocks

Peoria Ballet

Peoria Ballet is pleased to announce its 2012 Spring Show, entitled “Art that Rocks: A Fusion of Classic Dance and Contemporary Music.”  A departure from traditional classical Ballet performance, the 2012 Spring Show will feature something for every taste as classical ballet is fused with modern music. The performance will feature original choreography by Servy Gallardo, Artistic Director of the Peoria Ballet, set to contemporary music ranging from Frank Sinatra to Michael Bublé to Queen.

“This is an exciting new direction for the Peoria Ballet, and a fun way to shake things up for the audience and the performers,” said Gallardo, whose expert choreography highlights the amazing local talent of Peoria Ballet Academy students.

Nationally recognized in both performance and choreography, Gallardo is a native of Venezuela, where he was a principal dancer with the National Ballet of Venezuela. His career highlights include principal roles such as Franz and Dr. Coppelius in Coppelia, Romeo and Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet, Basilio in Don Quixote, Albrecht in Giselle, and Puck and Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Mr. Gallardo has worked extensively on creating new works with renowned choreographers such as Dwight Roden, Mark Godden, Nicolo Fonte and Alonzo King. In 2007, he was awarded the Outstanding Choreographer Award at the Youth American Grand Prix Philadelphia Regional Competition. His students have gone on to join companies such as San Francisco Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Ballet Arizona, and the Houston Ballet.
